Salary Range: $100,55.52 - $112,419.84
**THIS IS A PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO A CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION PRIOR TO ANY PERMANENT APPOINTMENT**
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position is responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of training presentations involving topics such as computer skills, supervisory skills, customer service, communication, department specific processes, and other work-related training at the Erie County Water Authority (ECWA). Duties also include providing support by tracking training information on complex databases. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Coordinator of Employee Relations or other higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.

Good knowledge of the principles and practices of adult learning; good knowledge of training presentations and techniques; working knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Training Provider (TPR) Registry; working knowledge of commercial class vehicles and heavy construction equipment; working knowledge of PESH Act and OSHA initiatives and safety standards; analytical ability; ability to assist in the development and delivery of training presentations; ability to compile simple statistical data; ability to utilize a personal computer for data input, spread sheet development and maintenance, research, electronic searches, database maintenance, and word processing; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse constituency; good decision making ability; good judgment; organized; capable of performing the essential functions of the positions with or without reasonable accommodations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Seven(7) years’ experience in the construction, repair, maintenance and operation of water mains within a water distribution system, three (3) years’ experience operating heavy equipment including but not limited backhoes, excavators, high lifts, and one (1) year of experience planning, coordinating and presenting workplace or vocational training programs or planning and presenting employee orientation programs either of which utilized database systems to monitor and track participant’s professional development or training.
Possession of sixty (60) credit hours* or more can be substituted for two (2) years of the water distribution system experience but not the heavy machinery or specialized training experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must possess a valid New York State Class A commercial driver’s license at time of appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment; and
Candidates must complete minimum amount of required Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration/Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) continuing education courses every two years throughout duration of appointment.
