Update on Boil Water Advisory for Impacted Areas of Hamburg & Orchard Park

Posted January 24, 2021

January 2021

Dear Customer:

Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) advises residents impacted by yesterday’s water main break in Hamburg to continue boiling tap water until 4 pm tomorrow, January 25. Further clarification on the boil water advisory will be given at 4 p.m. tomorrow after ECWA is able to determine the results of water quality tests that are being performed throughout the day today.

This Boil Water Notice applies to the area of the Towns of Hamburg and Orchard Park bounded (click here for a map):

·        To the North by Armor Duells Rd

·        To the South by Shamrock Ct./South Abbott Rd

·        To the West by Oakridge Dr.

·        To the East by Intersection of Armor Duells Rd & Powers Rd

ECWA advises residents to bring their tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute, and cool before using. Residents can also use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further our next update.

The water main is repaired where the break occurred. Following the repair, those areas were sanitized and the water main was flushed to clear the line prior to placing it back into service.

For more information, please contact ECWA dispatch at 685-8235. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our staff is working diligently to resolve this matter.

Sincerely,

Erie County Water Authority
