ECWA SYSTEM WATER PRESSURE RETURNING TO NORMAL IN SOUTHTOWNSFebuary 6, 2017
The Erie County Water Authority (The Authority) has discovered that due to Lake Erie not having frozen over by this time of winter, icy slush conditions appear to have partially restricted water flowing into the Authority's Sturgeon Point Water Treatment Plant in the Town of Evans.
The result of this condition reduced plant production levels of water for a short time today, causing a minor reduction in water pressure in a few communities in the Southtowns.
After adjusting plant operating conditions the system began to return to normal. The Authority will continue to monitor this unusual situation.
